St. Mary’s are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
We believe that one of the key roles of our school is to provide a caring, positive, safe and stimulating environment which promotes the social, physical and moral development of every individual child in our care, so that they grow up secure, confident and independent. It is clear, therefore, that the health, safety and well-being of all the children in our care are of paramount importance. Our pupils have the right to protection, regardless of age, gender, race, culture or disability. We recognise that all staff members have a full and active part to play in protecting our pupils from harm. The first point of contact for anyone who has a concern about the safety and well-being of a pupil is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
